Glazed Beef Tenderloin – A Showstopper for Any Table

Few dishes say "special occasion" like a perfectly roasted beef tenderloin—especially when it’s coated in a rich, glossy glaze that locks in flavor and impresses every guest. This Glazed Beef Tenderloin is juicy, tender, and full of bold, savory-sweet notes. Ideal for Sunday dinners, holiday feasts, or when you just want to treat yourself to something extra.

🧂 Ingredients:

For the Tenderloin:

  • 1 whole beef tenderloin (about 3–4 lbs), trimmed

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried thyme (or 2 tsp fresh)

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper (optional for heat)

🔪 Instructions:

1. Prep the Tenderloin

Let the beef come to room temperature (about 30–40 minutes out of the fridge). Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pat the tenderloin dry and rub all over with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.

2. Sear for Flavor

Heat a heavy skillet (like a cast iron) over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on all sides—about 2 minutes per side—until it forms a rich brown crust. Transfer to a roasting pan lined with a rack or foil.

3. Make the Glaze

While the beef is roasting, combine balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, soy sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer and reduce by half (about 7–10 minutes), until thick and syrupy.

4. Roast and Glaze

Roast the tenderloin for 25–30 minutes for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 130–135°F (54–57°C). Brush with glaze twice during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

5. Rest and Serve

Remove from oven and brush with one final coat of glaze. Tent loosely with foil and let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. This locks in all those flavorful juices!

🍽️ Serving Tips:

Slice into thick medallions and serve with your favorite sides—think garlic mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad. Drizzle with any leftover glaze or pan juices.
